Ash Fury is a manga series which will be written and illustrated by myself, Mitchell Smith. This idea has ideas from various other series (video games, manga, movies, etc.) like Chobits, The Terminator, Clannad, Death Note and Mega Man. Each of those has inspired me to make this, in some way or form. The story has to do with a huge war that occurs in the year 2124, between the criminal organization known as “Fury” and their rivals the human resistance known as "Envy". Fury have created a line of living, breathing artificial humans, however most of the early prototypes contain machine parts (aka, 'cyborgs'). These cyborgs are capable of doing many things and are considered indestructible and have various purposes, though overall, their main objective is to wipe out the human race, because they are considered 'obsolete'.
A scientist manages to kidnap one of these cyborgs, reprogram them and send them back through time to the year 2105, just before the conflict that caused the war started. This is where the actual story begins. The cyborg they sent back through time goes by the name "Ash Mareo", model number M-001. He is discovered by a 17-year old girl living in Anjo, Japan that goes by the name Elly Parker. On the way home from school, she finds Ash deactivated in an alleyway and takes him home with her, only to discover that he is not human. Humanoid robots are a common thing in 2105, but none that look as human as Ash, leading Elly to believe that Ash is from the future. She activates him by reading the words written across his back “Ash Fury”. At this point, it’s revealed Ash has amnesia, and all that he remembers is that he is from the future, but doesn’t remember anything other then that. He gets enrolled at Elly’s high school and learns slowly how to adapt to a human life over the first few chapters. The first part of the comic is mainly comedy-based, but later on, new characters start to arrive.
Through-out the story, various other cyborgs belonging to the same line of robotics as Ash are sent back through time, in order to destroy him, because he is of no further use to Fury and now that he has amnesia, he can actually be considered a threat to Fury with his hidden powers. In a later chapter, a cyborg known as the “Master Unit” who is the main antagonist of the entire series, reveals that Ash was originally a Fury robot (which Ash wasn’t aware of because of the amnesia). Once he remembers though, his programming starts conflicting with each other. He becomes unsure whether humans are his friend or enemy and starts malfunctioning, becoming increasingly rebellious, while still remaining subtle. He starts secretly killing off humans one-by-one, without anyone knowing it’s actually him. (Think of him as Kira from Death Note).
I could go into much larger detail, but then I'll be typing this forever. I just want to get your opinion on the general summary of the first few chapters.
